Update, January 12th, 2024: We did it! I'm now serving the four-year term you elected me to serve. I am under oath to serve my neighbors through December 31st, 2027. Thank you so much for your support and care during the campaign. I will leave this site up for a bit, but ultimately likely take it down to save on hosting costs. Thank you, truly - this was a team effort and I'm so grateful!
Previous site introduction below:
Hi, I'm Amanda. I'm running to retain my seat on your city council. I was appointed to the Bothell City Council in October 2022 and have been honored to serve my hometown as a councilmember.
Bothell has seen dramatic change in the 30 years I've lived here. Our population has doubled and the policy choices made by councilmembers before me have meant that some neighborhoods are nearly unrecognizable and others are unable to change, even as our neighbors need to find options for their changing lives. I hope to be able to work on more gentle growth options, where our neighborhoods can evolve with us as we grow but are neither frozen in time nor dramatically altered with a blink. We can address the cost and availability of housing without whiplash, enacting evidence-based policy that grants all of us the option of small, incremental changes to our own homes.
I'm proud to be endorsed by the Washington State Sierra Club and Washington Conservation Action and honored that these amazing organizations recognized my history of advocating for growth that protects our natural areas and open spaces. Bothell is held to state law and can't freeze in time, but we also must be a city with open spaces, parks, healthy wetlands and streams, and a robust tree canopy. This means growing smarter than we have in the past.
I'd like to see our city shape the growth we face while not only protecting our environment, but while also encouraging more housing options for all stages of life. We've become a city that's hard to afford and hard to downsize in, and I know we can do better. We need to support our young adults, seniors, and working families more intentionally with policy that allows for more types of housing at more income levels. We must also enact policy that supports great small businesses, parks across our whole city, and fun events to tighten our community's bond. I firmly believe we all have a duty to leave Bothell better than we found it and to do the most good for the most people any time we make a decision.
If you're ready to help ensure Bothell is a welcoming city with great recreation, environmental stewardship, and a balanced budget that reflects our community priorities, please consider contributing to my campaign:
Thank you for taking time to learn about my campaign, share your hopes for Bothell with me, and to vote in November. Your voice matters in all our city does. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, big or small.

If you're ready to help ensure Bothell is a welcoming city with great recreation, environmental stewardship, and a balanced budget that reflects our community priorities, please consider contributing to my campaign:
- Volunteer to host a sign in your yard.
- Host a meet and greet in your neighborhood so your neighbors can learn more about this race and our city's upcoming decisions.
- Contribute financially to help produce things like yard signs, campaign literature to hand out when I'm ringing doorbells around the city, and to pay for the cost of running a campaign.
- Follow me on Facebook or Instagram for more opportunities to lend a hand throughout our journey to November 7th.
- Send a quick note of support, either public or private, just to add encouragement!
